Be Kind To Yourself.

Updated: Jan 7

As I go through the many changing seasons of my life, I realize that I have a lot that I need to improve on. As much as I want to better myself, I find myself stationary. Whether it's fear, doubt, or even just my ADHD brain, I need to remember to go easy on myself. As humans, we are perfectionists. Whether that is achieving perfection in your grades, your looks, your weight, your role in your family, your career... we're all striving for perfection in some form. With that kind of pursuit, it's easy to lose sight of all of your amazing efforts and accomplishments. The hardest part? It's way easier to highlight your shortcomings, your failures, or things you have yet to achieve. That mindset can start to feel suffocating and draining. Instead, try to focus on your milestones, goals you have achieved, even small things you've done to create a better, more stable thought pattern, life or environment for yourself.

I've been searching for more balance in my life. I tried escaping the world of social media for about a year, and it did help change my perspective on some things. One major realization: it's easy to glamorize your life on social media or to friends and family.. I mean, who really wants to talk about or highlight the negatives? The reality is, those times of uncertainty, those periods of lonliness or darkness, really build strength and character. It helps us to appreciate the brighter days experienced and ahead. I've found a lot of peace in knowing that we're all just doing the best we can! This awareness over the past several years has aided in my healing. No matter what you go through, I hope you can have peace in knowing that this is your first rodeo, and mistakes are unavoidable. Living is learning, and learning is growth.

What is balance when it comes to your life? To put it simply: A balanced life means considering all aspects such as: relationships, work, physical health, and emotional wellbeing. It's not an easy task to balance everything, and I am definitely still learning myself. It seems overwhelming to say the least. But, it can be done (slowly of course). The best advice for taking risks, bettering yourself, or anything really is to DO IT SCARED. Do it when you don't feel like doing it, do it even if you don't have full belief that you can. You'll see that you really are capable of anything.

I hope that this post helps you in some way, and remember, you are doing amazing! Life isn't black and white. We have so much to deal with and heal through. Always take time to appreciate the things you have done for yourself so far. Build yourself up and be kind to yourself. Try not to compare yourself to others. You are on your own beautiful journey.
